The Numbulwar Roper Gulf Regional Council teams from Age Care, Community Development Program (CDP), Municipal, and Sport and Recreation have all banded together to support and empower one of our Age Care clients Henry (Jack) Huddleston.
After many months of advocacy to have maintenance completed at Jack’s home, our incredible staff in Numbulwar armed themselves with gloves, brooms, pressure washers, whipper snippers, chainsaws, garbage bags and lots of energy, cleaning inside and outside of Jacks House in Newtown Numbulwar.
Clothing and blankets were washed, the fridge, stove, and kitchen were left sparkling, the bathroom and laundry were tackled with serious elbow grease and the great outdoors was snipped and trimmed, all rubbish removed with trailers and the trusty compactor at the ready.
When this was finished, Jacks house was fresh and furnished and he was very happy saying, "I feel like a new man with a new home."
Thank you to every person who rolled up their sleeves for Jack, and to the tireless efforts of Robyn and her amazing team at Age Care who make advocating, supporting and caring for the elderly community members in Numbulwar a top priority every day.
