Works of art often tell stories, and thanks to Carolyn Renolds from Lake Bennett Resort donating craft supplies to the Aged Care Centres in the Roper Gulf Region, many elders are able to preserve the stories from the past for future generations.
One such artist is Judy Doctor Thompson from the Ngukurr Aged Care facility. Ms Thompson has been fostering new skills and telling stories from her past and recreating theme on canvas. Annalisa Bowden, Regional Manager, said the donation has allowed the artists to continue practicing their skills and now gain recognition for their artistic abilities.
“We would like to thank Carolyn Renolds from Lake Bennett Resort for donating canvases and paint to our Aged Care Centres in the Roper Gulf Region” she stated.
“Artists are producing beautiful work and inspiring the staff and other Care members to participate”.
The donation has breathed new life and colour in to the Facility in Ngukurr and will continue for the foreseeable future.
