
Roper Gulf Regional Council has welcomed Michelle Farrell as the new Councillor for the Yugul Mangi Ward, following the 2025 Local Government Supplementary Election.
Ms Farrell was declared elected by the Northern Territory Electoral Commission on 7 November, with the election uncontested.
Councillor Farrell was officially sworn in at Council’s Ordinary Meeting held in Katherine on Tuesday, 17 December 2025.
Mayor Tony Jack welcomed Councillor Farrell to Council and acknowledged the importance of strong local representation.
“Strong local representation is essential to the work of Council,” Mayor Jack said.
“We welcome Councillor Farrell to Council and look forward to her contribution in representing the Yugul Mangi Ward and supporting positive outcomes for the region.”
Councillor Farrell’s election completes Council representation for the current term and supports Council’s ongoing focus on delivering services, advocacy and leadership across the Roper Gulf region.
