Roper Gulf Regional Council is pleased to announce the results of the 2023 Never Never Ward Supplementary Election, as we extend congratulations to Edna Iles on her election as the new Councillor for Never Never Ward.
The supplementary election, held earlier this month, saw the Never Never Ward communities exercise their democratic right to choose their representative, and the results reflect the trust and confidence placed in Councillor Iles.
With this, Councillor Iles will assume her responsibilities as a dedicated steward of the Never Never Ward, where she will work tirelessly to address the needs of its residents.
Mayor Tony Jack of Roper Gulf Regional Council expressed his congratulations, saying, "I am delighted to congratulate Edna Iles on her election as the new Councillor for Never Never Ward.”

Edna Iles, a long-standing member of the community, expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her and her enthusiasm for the work ahead.
Roper Gulf Regional Council extends its thanks to all candidates and the community for their participation in the supplementary election, as well as their commitment to the democratic process.
The Council is eager to embark on this new journey with Councillor Edna Iles and continue serving the best interests of the residents of the Never Never Ward.
