Do you know someone who makes your community a better place?
The Citizen of the Year Awards are a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate outstanding members of your community or township. The Citizen of the Year Awards reward and recognise people and groups that have made a significant contribution to the Roper Gulf region during the current year (2022). There are three award categories for each community.
Citizen of the Year
This is presented to someone making an extraordinary contribution to the community and may recognise outstanding service over a number of years. To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen.
Young Citizen of the Year
This is presented to a young emerging leader who is making a real difference in their community. To be eligible, the person must be an Australian Citizen aged over 16 years and under 30 years of age on January 26, 2023.
Community Event of the Year

Roper Gulf Regional Council will collect nominations for these awards from each community/township in the Roper Gulf region. Nominate someone who makes a real difference in your community and give them the opportunity to be rewarded and recognised for their important contribution.
Nominations will close on Wednesday 30 November 2022. A panel will select the award winner for each category from each community/township which will be announced at local Australia Day events. There will also be a regional winner for each award category.
