Roper Gulf Regional Council has received no further updates from the Northern Territory Government (NTG) or Secure NT about the guidelines for people living or working in the Roper Gulf region.
Outside of our region, Northern Territory Government has announced new public exposure sites in Palmerston, following two new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the NT.
The Chief Health Officer has also declared hotspots in Queensland and Western Australia for the purposes of travel to the NT from 5:30pm on 29 June 2021.
It is important for residents to continue to check the Northern Territory COVID-19 website to review the list of exposure sites and to make sure you are complying with NTG health directions.
All other persons who are not community residents, Council staff, or Northern Territory Government staff, who for whatever reason, need to travel to remote communities, are advised to contact the Northern Land Council (NLC).
Council asks our residents to please stay in community for now, as your community is the safest place for you to be.
Please make sure you continue to:
- Use the Territory Check-In app.
- Monitor your health. If you are feeling unwell, stay home from work and if you have symptoms of COVID-19 get tested and isolate.
- If you have recently visited the Greater Darwin Area, please monitor for any COVID-19 symptoms and get tested if you have any of the symptoms or are unsure or concerned. Please do not travel to communities if you have recently visited the Greater Darwin Area.
