The Chief Minister has today announced a 72 hour lock-down for Alice Springs.
As yet there are no further updates for the Roper Gulf and Katherine Regions, however, in line with the Northern Territory Government’s recommendations, all unnecessary travel should be avoided.
Council reminds residents that the authoritative, and most accurate source of information pertaining to the COVID-19 situation in the Northern Territory is the official Northern Territory Government website.
All persons who for whatever reason must travel to Aboriginal Communities, or otherwise travel on Aboriginal land, are advised to contact the Northern Land Council. Council understands that this is a difficult time for all persons who reside or otherwise find themselves within the Roper Gulf Region, however it reminds all persons to abide by the Chief Health’s Officer’s instructions and recommendations.
