Mobile Media Training

Did you know that Roper Gulf has five community broadcasting locations?

Media Officers in Barunga, Beswick and Ngukurr host daily radio programs as part of our Indigenous Broadcasting program. There are also radio stations in Bulman and Numbulwar, with recruitment open to fill these Media Officer positions.

The Indigenous Broadcasting program is possible through funding from National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) and thanks to support from Top End Aboriginal Bush Broadcasting Association (TEABBA).

This week, a group of our Media Officers and Community Safety staff participated in Mobile Media training with Batchelor Institute to learn how to use devises such as tablets and phones to conduct professional interviews and create videos in community for use on radio or social media.

Training was done at the Roper Gulf Support Centre in Katherine and Nitmiluk National Park.

We can't wait to share some of their work on here soon!

Participants: Dilan Ranasinghe (IT Officer), Dunstan Weetra (Beswick Media Officer), Delma McCartney (Barunga Media Officer), Cristie Geer (Regional Manager Sport & Recreation), Bethany O'Sullivan (Communications Coordinator), Amanda Ngalmi (Numbulwar Community Safety Coordinator) and Clare Cupitt (Community Safety Manager).
