Roper Gulf Regional Council is offering a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to the right corporate professional to deliver Council’s ambitious Strategic Outcomes by leading a team to deliver a diverse portfolio of services to support and build our communities.
As General Manager Council Services, you will be directly managing the Council Services & Community Engagement division to ensure effective delivery of community services such as Community Safety, Aged Care, Children Services, Indigenous Broadcasting, Centrelink, Animal Management, Council Administration and Municipal Services.
In this role, you will be accountable to:
- Develop a strong and cohesive social life through the delivery of Council services and allocate resources in a fair, socially inclusive and sustainable way;
- Provide and coordinate services;
- Encourage and develop initiatives for improving quality of life for constituents through service delivery and community engagement in the Roper Gulf Region;
- Be responsive to the needs, interests and aspirations of individuals and groups with the Roper Gulf Region;
- Place a high value on the importance of service to the Council’s constituency;
- Seek to provide services and programs that are appropriate to the needs of the Roper Gulf Region and to ensure equitable access to its services, facilities and programs;
- Provide strategic direction and management of the Community Services and Engagement division to ensure a high quality of service delivery with an open and engaging approach.
Tertiary qualified, preferably with Post Graduate qualification, you will have an impressive track record leading and directing the management of Council's core services delivery in remote communities and successful management of multi-million dollar government contracts or service delivery projects.
You will have a minimum of five (5) years’ management experience in a similar executive role behind you. You will be highly desired for your demonstrated experience in working in remote locations and with Indigenous people and ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Indigenous people.
