Access
By road, the trip to Minyerri/Hodgson Downs takes approximately three hours from Katherine. Following the sealed, single lane Roper Highway which is approximately 10km from Mataranka for 80 km will bring you to the Minyerri/Hodgson Downs turn-off. The remaining 80 km is dirt road.

Minyerri/Hodgson Downs may also be accessed by chartered light aircraft. Please be advised that Minyerri/Hodgson Downs is a closed community; a Nothern Land Council (NLC) permit is required to visit this community.

Minyerri/Hodgson Downs Services

Roper Gulf Regional Council provides the Local Government service, Night Patrol in Minyerri/Hodgson. All other services are provided by the Alawa Association. These services include, but are not limited to, road maintenance and repair, airstrip maintenance and repair, traffic management, rubbish collection, upkeep of parks, gardens and weed maintenance, assets and fleet management, sport and recreation.

Also located in Minyerri/Hodgson Downs are a Health Clinic, School, Creche, Women’s Centre, Aged Care, Store Airstrip, Police Station and Water Park.
